Question:

Installation of an above ground pool?

Just a quick question. I've been told that I need to purchase the "foam" or cove for the pool to be installed because "Nobody uses sand anymore, that's old school and will leave serious indentions in the floor of your pool".

This is going to cost me an unexpected 200 dollars. I have been told that the installer should have included this "cove, foam" in his installation price.

Does anyone have any advice on this, am I getting one pulled over on me or is this legit?

  1. not sure, I installed my own and used sand. As long as you fill the pool prior to walking on the sand the water pressure will not allow for indentations...good luck

  2. sand is good but I have sand and foam...I put the foam down when I repalced the liner a few years ago...foam keeps the small rocks in the sand from gravitating up toward the liner...I think the foam is called "happy feet"

    good luck

  3. This is just a money making scheme. I have had pools for a long time and always had sand.
