Question:

Installed new cold air intake on 02 jetta...makes a whistle noise when it starts??

then it will fade away after about 30 seconds but will come back. What could it be?

  1. You got a leak in there somewhere bud.


  2. go back and re-tighten all your hoses an clamps. and don't listen to dr. car guy...he isn't a real doctor. doesn't even play one on tv.

  3. Sounds like a vacuum leaks make sure you have tightened all the clamps, and make sure that intake it the right one for your car.

  4. could be that you have a leak, get the stock system back on there asap

  5. Thats just what intakes do.  They suck in air and it causes a whistling noise by spiraling up in the tube to your engine.  Its just like you blowing into a bottle and it whistles up a bit.

  6. Check for any vacuum leaks at all connections from the fresh air  inlet to the engine.
