Installed new monitor and now have no sound

I was given a LCD monitor for my birthday, and installed it yesterday. However, I have no sound coming from my computer now. What have I failed to do?I was able to register my product at the web-site, and don't know if it's a defective monitor or if I've failed to complete a step that would give me sound.HELP PLEASEContact me at: elaine5671@yahoo.com
