Installed xp and fedora linux in a pc. Delected linux partition. How to change the boot set up?

I installed windows xp,then fedora linux in a pc. Shifted the hard disk to another pc and deleted the linux partition. Now kept the hard disk in the previous system. While booting it is showing both operating systems. If selected fedora the system is hanged. How to change my boot process. To show onlyl the existing operating system. Can any one help. . . !

  1. Boot your PC from your Windows XP CD.

    Then you need to enter repair mode. You might have to select your Windows installation (normally 1) and your admin password.

    Then you need to type in fixmbr. Accept the warning, don't worry it'll be fine.

    Once done, reboot. Your PC should boot into XP without asking you for a selection.


  2. I can tell you a way to restore the old way of booting, namely only Windows.

    - boot from the Windows CD

    - choose "repair console" or so;  I think you do it by pressing "e"

    - wait till the console loads, then type in "fixmbr" and press ENTER

    - you will be seeing a warning but don't worry, it will affect only the boot region of the hard disk

    - when it's done, take out the Windows CD and type in "exit" to reboot

    - that's it
