Installing a Head Unit

I have a 2004 Chevy Cavalier coupe and I want a Alpine CDA-9887 head unit and at crutchfield.com says it wont fit but my friend said that it would and I'm confused is there something I can buy to make it fit???

  1. This unit will not fit in your car...Be careful to watch your friend,He may have a chain saw handy.


  2. There shouldn't be a problem with that radio fitting into your vehicle. You'll need a mounting kit to fill the gaps around the radio, but that is all. Some GM vehicles do have a piece of plastic that the old factory radio lined up with to stay secure. It may be possible that your vehicle has this plastic, and that is why Crutchfield is saying the radio will not fit. If that is the case, all you have to do is cut off the plastic with a hacksaw, and you'll be all set.
