  1. Nail or s***w. I hope you're using greenboard. It's the one specficially made for this and is mold and mildew resistant.


  2. This has been used for many years. I have always use the recommended tile board adhesive and nail only as needed to hold till glue sets. Use only rust proof nails. The nailing can actually be done in the divider bars and with the inside corner moldings. (None through the actual board.) Do not skip the tub trim set either.

    Be sure that wall is flush with the tub lip before installing tile board. (otherwise it will bow board out)

  3. use 1/2" hardibacker or durarock instead of greenboard drywall.  when greenboard gets wet it still crumbles, where hardibacker and durarock do not.  s***w the board to the studs with 1 1/4" screws.  do not set the board directly down onto the tub.  keep it off the tub about an inch (enough to clear the lip sticking up on the tub.)  tile and grout over the board as usual.  good luck.
