long and short we got it together for the most part. but the new faucet seems to have tubes of weaved metal (seen it a million times, no idea what its called) instead of pipes like our old faucet. this causes a problem as the risers are so tall that there is no room for the tubes. what can i do? can the risers be replaced with tubing? if so what is this type of tubing called and what price should we be looking at?

  1. Call a plumber not a plummer.

  2. sounds like you are referring to "flexible supply lines".

if they came with the faucet they may be hard to replace depending on how the manufacture attached them to their faucet.

    OTHERWISE:

as stated above, they can be purchased in a variety of lengths.

should you choose to use "rigid" supply tubing, be sure of its size whether 3/8" X 1/2 X 24  or 1/2 X 1/2 X 24.

hardly anyone uses rigid supply tubing anymore unless in a high rise building where some cities require it by code.  they are too time consuming to install

  3. tubes of weaved metal? sounds like wire weaved jacketed water supply lines? are they flexible? one end connects to the faucet and the other end connects to the water supply? (riser) they come in shorter lengths and are flexible . 3-4 bucks apiece at the hardware store? make sure you ask for FAUCET  water supply lines . water closet supply lines have a different connecter. good luck.

  4. You are not a plumber, the risers you call are supply lines, and the weaved metal is called a flex supply line. Many times you can just hook the flex lines to the angle stops if they will reach and remove the old supply lines. If the flex lines are too short to reach the angle stops go and buy longer flex lines since they come in different sizes.
