Installing a sewing machine in it's cabinet ?

I have an old Kenmore sewing machine and a cabinet that I believe goes with it, but I can not figure out how to install it in it's cabinet???? anybody know?

  1. There are generally hinges in the back of old cabinet machines  that allow the machine to be folded down and the lid closed.  Finding hinges to fit can be a big issue (often, the hinges got left with the machines.)

  2. Depends, there are two types.... on the cabinet there should be two hinges, these hinges with pins match up to two holes on the back and underside of the machine. There are set screws on the holes on the machine that have to be backed out a little in order for the hinge pins to slide in. Once they have slid in tighten the set screws.

    The other type of Kenmore cabinet (and machine) has holes on the table inside that match up to holes on the bottom of the machine. A special bolt or s***w goes through the base and into the machine. The problem is just any s***w or bolt won't fit.

    Another problem is it may not be a matching cabinet. Kind of need to know what model Kenmore, they vary.
