Installing airbags?

my grandparents have a 1991 Isuzu Trooper II they are willing to give me, but i have to have airbags on my vehicle.. is it possible to install airbags on an older vehicle? any idea on how much this would cost?

You can't. The entire unit structure has to be designed around the airbag (SRS) in order for it to work properly and even if you chanced it you could buy a 2000 model or newer for what it would cost to retro fit. Why do you need airbags? A good three point seatbelt is just as safe (safer, in my humble opinion). There are MILLIONS of cars on the road today without airbags yet the streets aren't running red with blood and body parts so don't be fooled into thinking that just because you drive a vehicle equipped with SRS you are 'safe'.

It can be done but you will be looking between $2500.00 to $4000.00 to have them done correctly...
