Question:

Installing an XM radio?

I'm looking to buy an XM radio for my car, and I'm curious as to whether or not this will work. I do not want to have it installed into the car because I think that in a year or so I'll be getting a new car (does that make sense?). So I checked out the website, and I saw two ways you can install it. One was using a cassette player, but I don't have one in my car. And the other was attaching something to the antenna, and strangely, my car has no external antenna so I don't think that would work.

So my question is, how would I go about installing one? And if I chose professional installation, how much is that going to cost me, roughly?

  1. very simple installation by the receiver and car docking kit they are FM modulated which means you tune your radio to a specific FM station that is preset in the unit and there you go you have sound. Go to your local best buy or circuit city and have them give you a demo just because you do it does not mean you have to buy from them.

  2. Its very simple, but I <3 Sirius much better than XM. anyway, all you have to do is plug radio into 12 volt power outlet then run antenna cord to the top of the car.. Or you could hardwire it into your cars electrical system. If your not a "DIY"'er then i would get professional instalation
