Question:

Installing new car stereo?

I've successfully taken my stock radio out of my 1990 Honda Accord. I can't see any way of bolting the new radio in place or anything like that, only attaching it to the little box underneath and sliding it back into place. Is there a way I can make this stereo more secure so that it won't be stolen easily? A special tool or attachment to secure it ?

  1. for a honda you can just go to walmart and get a installation kit for cd players only like 15 dollars at the most.

  2. Trust me if the theifs want it they`ll take it...best defence is to alarm your car good & proper..the more you secure it the more damage it will do to your car dash board if they were to pinch it..

Prevention is better than the cure.

  3. Assuming you installed a sleeve in the old opening that the new head unit fits into there should be some metal tabs that you can push in to keep it from sliding out.  Once you put the dash back together no one will be able to easily steal it without destroying your dash and probably the unit itself.

  4. Your best bet would be to take it to Halfords and have them fit it for you. I believe they'll fit a radio that hasn't been purchased from them - for a fee, obviously.

  5. u need to get a kit to install the new one for that car   if not take to a install shop   theyll do it and it will probably wont be much and it will save u time and worry
