Installing sub in 2008 Honda Accord EX 7 Speaker System?

Trying to decide what the best method for installing an aftermarket amp/sub in my Accord coupe with 7 speaker Premium Audio. Right now it has the small punch sub in the back deck and it isn't getting the job done, but I'm curious if there's a way to maintain the Sub volume control from the factory head unit, or if I should just take the hot wires from the factory sub and run them into the new amp? Thanks for the help.

If you go up to a audio installation shape they should sell a converter that wires up to your factory stereo
