Installing surface phone jacks....?

i seriously need help. i have no idea how to do the wiring or what colors ki need.i have a surface phon e jack.and wires.i know that u need to unscrew them but then i dont how put the wire with its color, inside,on top, on the side.i have no idea and i really want my phone to be on!the company say that i should have a dial tone cause they set it up so yeah PLZ help...with details.
