Instances where courts have declined to act in a way that is inconsistant with established rules?

I would have to say the OJ Simpson trial. It was a circus with  an actor in charge. To this day, I still don't believe the verdict that was so very very wrong. It also was a bad idea for the courts to have camera's there. Everyone know that people act different when in front of a camera. That alone was the main inconsistency.
