Instant messages even though I am invisable?

People I dont know are sending me messages even though I am invisable. How can this be?

  1. well if you sent one to them then they would know that but you can still send a message to someone and they get the message that you will get it when you are online.  so if you don't want them to know you are on then don't reply and they wont know for sure
