Instant messaging applications on Blackberry Pearl 8120 help?

Question

I just got a new blackberry pearl 8120 and am trying to sign into my yahoo! and msn IMs but it says "service not enabled for this handheld"....

So how do I enable this service??

I have unlimited messaging on my plan and it worked fine on my old phone, which was not a blackberry but thought I would add that...

I just got a new Blackberry Pearl 8110 with AT&T and from what I've read on other entries, apparently AT&T does not support yahoo messenger on Blackberries.  I used it on my Motorola Razr (also with AT&T) and it worked fine, so I guess if your carrier is AT&T also, we're just out of luck!

You will need the BlackBerry data plan enabled on your account (or some sort of data plan enabled) in order for the Yahoo! Messenger to work. The newer messaging applications use data and not text messaging.

I guess I need to know if you have the blackberry data plan... if so, how are you trying to logon? do you have the Yahoo program on your blackberry or going thru a web page?
