  1. Next time a home run call is blown, notice the amount of time it takes to resume play. Between the 37 minute conference with the officiating crew, player arguments, and manager arguments, it would be alot more simple to see a replay, make a clear call and get on with the game.

  2. it only slow it down four a couple minutes

Ruthinia - you got to wire and pay for it and get an agreement with the mlb umpires. Its alot more work than just setting up camreas

and saying there you instant reaply. they need to work out all the issues.

mlb umpires want to see themselfs to makes sure its a homerun.  please learn before you  open your mouth

  3. I'm a fan and I'm for it.  When I'm at a game I really wouldn't mind an extra little non 7th inning stretch.  It would make it easier to get food/beer because the lines would be pretty short for something like that. (assuming the replay happens before or after the 7th)  As for watching it on TV,  the replay time could be wisely used to grab another beer,  use the crapper,  or put a pizza in the oven.

What's with these anti replay guys?  They argue that it could make the game take longer as if it were a bad thing.  I'm sorry sir/miss but I really don't get why you wouldn't want the calls to be accurate 100%.

If you like baseball,  you shouldn't mind if it takes a few extra mins. to finish the game.  If you don't,  then hopefully you don't have a say in what happens in the majors.

  4. I am personally not a fan of instant replay, but it will speed the game up more becasue the Umpires won't have to discuss whether its a Home Run or not

  5. Personally, I don;t give a rip what  Major league baseball does.

I haven't been to a major league game in almost 20 years, and I rarely t watch a game on TV from start to finish. The Sunday night ESPN game is almost guaranteed to last over 3 hours.

I do, however, go to maybe 50 minor league games a year, ((AA Eastern league)  and if the umps make a mistake, so what. It's over, next batter, please!

Incidentally, the Eastern league did institute a policy to speed up the game.  A batter must keep one foot in the batters' box during his time at bat. He cannot step out except to run to first base, or to sit down  if he's out.  Otherwise, if the pitcher is ready and the batter is not, the umpire calls a strike.

It has knocked an average of 8 minutes off the time of the game.

  6. I'm not a fan of instant replay but there have been to many controversial calls om home runs this year.  I'm not sure how they will decide when to use or not use it.  Speed up the game by ordering the batters to get up to the plate quickly.  Not wait until the stupid walk up music begins.  Walk up music should be eliminated.  Enforce the time limit between pitches.  TV is one big culprit.  They can't start playing a new inning untril baseball says to.  A couple weeks ago the Cardinals were playing on Sunday night.  The Cardinals were in the field the batter was ready top bat but the game couldn't start until ESPN had given the starting line ups.  TV is slowing down and ruining baseball

  7. I just wonder why its taking them so dang long to implement it. Welcome to the 21st century!

  8. No... to get it right.

Most are bringing up the "home runs" that are missed. But what about the plays that are/were missed in the World Series?

Like in 1985 when Don D(inenger) missed that call at first base in the 6th game and Kansas City went on the beat the Cards in a seventh game that should not have taken place?

Sure, that's history, but what if it happens again this year?

I've been a baseball fan for 50 years and it really bugs me when the re-play on TV shows that the umpire missed a call. That's why the stadiums aren't allowed to show the re-play on the big board.

Sure, no body is perfect. But in this case a few extra minutes to get it right won't bother the "real" baseball fan.

  9. I know the game is slow. But the umps missed to many homers this year. What they need to institute is a time limit between pitches to speed up the game. I also think that intentional walks should just be automatic and you should not have to throw four balls.

  10. Yes the game is slow but the Umps blow to much games. Its better to see if the Homer is actually fair or foul then the Umps just guessing. I would much rather see a game called right and risk a few minutes of my time.
