Instead of Settling for a Lower Amount with Folks?

Do some debtors just wait till they sue you and get a judgement against you for the full amount? Does that make good sense?

Depends on the size of the debt and the history of the debtor.  In most cases it is easier to settle (and cheaper to settle).  

But there are cases of people who run up billings in the 10'sK and then try to settle on 20cents to the dollar
