Instead of paying rental $700/mth, I'd decided to buy a low cost house. Does it effect my kids' medicaid?

I've very good credit, full employment, 2 kids of 2 yrs and 4yrs, single mom.

  1. When you rent it is the only expense for housing (except utilities) there are many expenses in owning a house, Maintenance, taxes, and other unexpected expenses.  Think very had about this decision.

    It may...assets are one variable that is considered when determining eligibility.  Remember your costs will increase with home ownership, property taxes, utilities, maintenance.  Do a budget and figure out what you can afford.  Also talk to an administer of medicaid to ensure you will not lose benefits.  I administer a trust for a relative on SSI...home ownership directly would deny her benefits.
