I'm not that good at putting eyeliner on the top of my eyelid any tips?

And when I put the eyeliner on my waterline it runs and smears all under my eyes. =/ Would it be better if I put it by my eye lashes instead of on my waterline will it help and make it better? If so how do I put it on with out it clumping and loking really really bad?

  1. My favorite way of doing eyes is to tightline. It's sort of in between applying on the waterline and lining the lid. You just smoosh liner into the lash line, and it looks more natural and in my case doesn't smudge as much as other methods. It might seem odd at first, but once you learn it won't take any more time. I'm including a link to a tutorial that hopefully will help explain the method better than I could.

I think it's best to do it with gel liner (like MAC Fluidline or Bobbi Brown--I think even Loreal HIP has one now), but you can also use a really sharp eye liner pencil if you prefer.

    Hope that helps!

  2. yeah i had the same prob

    just dont wear any:P

or buy a better brand coz i used a cheaper one and it smudged BUT now i use YSL and its all good FINALLY:P

  3. awww... i understand your pain being a big eye makeup wearer myself. Hun, thats the biggest mistake for eye makup that i commonly see with people/teens. First you need to figure out why the heck you line the "waterline"! Is it because your bad at doing it on the lower lashes, does it come out too thick or are you scared of trying it? No matter you definatly need to stop!!!! Not only will it run no matter if its waterproof it is bad for your eyes. STOP! To line your lower lashes make sure you use a sharp eyeliner pencil (i sware by Revlons Colorstay Liner- it may be a little more expensive but before all other pencils just sweated off this stuff sticks, you can get it from any drug store)  never use liquid for the lower lashes! you need to start from the outer corner and lightly go back and forth from the outside in by the tear duct. how ever much pressure you apply is how thick the line will be,,,, start soft and then apply a little more pressure if you want a more dramatic look. also! This may be a little off topic but you may want to consider doing the same with your upper lash line lots of people only do the bottom which is a big mistake (unless of course you have small eyes). Just sit on your bathroom sink counter and practice over and over and yes.... over again until until you can work that pencil like you can write!!! Good luck.

P.S.---- for lining the upper lashes with pencil you may want to make your eyelid taut for eaiser application by gently pulling your eyelid.

    god bless.

  4. Below waterline is fine. Use waterproof eyeliner so it won't look bad if you get your eyes watery. Good Luck. Haha. X]

  5. loreal hip cream liner is good. it stays all day. seriously. also at the end of the day make sure to use a gentle make up remover because it doesnt come off with just cleanser/soap and water, and it flakes and will get in your eye so if it feels uncomfortable just take it right off.

  6. I find putting eyeliner on the top very easy. Here are some suggestions. Close the eye that you're about to put eyeliner on, or have it very slightly open if you're more comfortable with that. Gently pull the skin beside your eye with one hand and start lining your eye starting from the outside to inside with your other (Line both eyes with your Right hand if you're right handed or with your left, if you're left handed). Apply the eyeliner in small strokes instead of a single long stroke. Reapeat if you want a thicker line. Then do the other eye. As for the bottom, try lining right beneath your lower lashes rather on the waterline. This will prevent smudging.

  7. Maybe waterproof eyeliner? Or eyeshadow.

  8. just below the waterline is what i do :D

    better effect i think :D

    answer mine?

    thank you love :D

  9. I read somewhere recently that it actually makes your eyes look smaller to put it on the waterline. Stick with by your eyelashes. Use a pencil and make sure it's nice and sharp. Blend it in with a cue tip.

  10. USE LIQUID EYELINER PUT IT JUST BELOW YOUR WATERLINE! WORKS A TREAT :-D

  11. when you do liner on your top lid, do it in short, smooth, careful strokes so that you have better control over its direction.

and putting liner on your waterline can make your eyes look smaller, so what i do is use a thin shadow brush to line the lower lid (make sure it's a nice, dark, very fine line so it doesn't look blobby and weird).
