if you yell at them would they still grow, only to be troubled and insecure?

So long as the neighbors don't see you, it wouldn't matter if you sang opera to the plants. The carbon dioxide from a humans exhaled breath is not going to make any significance... sorry.

Mythbusters  dedicaded a show to find out if, and what, kinds of music and sound plants react to.

If I remember correctly, one green house was set up for classic type of music, and another one was set up with rock and roll/ heavy metal,

still another was set up for the crew of mythbusters to come in several times a day to littlerally  scram and shout and make lousy noises, in the search of how the plants will respond.

They maintained and watered the plants for months, as they started a few as seeds, and others already at a few weeks old.

After 2 months had gone by, they started to gather info on each seperate, growing condition.

Plants reacted fairly well to the rock and roll/ heavy metal.

The green house with the screaming and shouting on a daily basis, was the worst garden.

The plants listening to the "classic music" did the best out of all 3 of them.

So it is quite possible that plants can and may react to the yelling, screaming, and obuse.

well some plants are naturally disturbed and may lash out at you, i remember this one story i heard bout this plant @ a shop that kept eating ppl...the name of the shop was something like "Little Shop of Horrors"!
