Question:

Instructions for cleaning dyed bridesmaid shoes?

Okay, my google-fu has failed me. My sister is getting married in a month and I am a bridesmaid - I picked up my dyed shoes last Saturday and the dying process had shrunk them, so I took them to a shoe repair shop to see if they could be stretched a little. When I picked them up today they fit much better, but now they have some dirty smudges on them. They are a very pale pink so the dirt is really visible.

So is it possible to clean them? I'm thinking just rubbing them with a damp washcloth would get the dirt off, but I'm worried I'll put water stains on them or mess up the dye. How do I do this?

  1. Take them back to the shoe shop. Anything you do will make them appear worse. They are satin., and liquids ALWAYS leave marks.

If they refuse to help you, you could try any aerosol upholstery cleaner, but no guarantee!
