Instructions for installing car seat?

Someone is coming to picked up a car seat my son grew out of and I don't have the instructions anymore. It is an Evenflo Discovery 5 car seat. Does anyone know where you can find the instructions for it online??? Thanks!

You can dowload instructions from Evenflo's website, and instruction videos, too. You will need the model number and date of manufacture of the seat, located on the labels of the seat. https://plweb.evenflo.com/replacement_pa...

Its worth noting that you should check this page: http://safety.evenflo.com/cs/sc/cssc_RD.... to see if there's a recall as there were recalls on a bunch of Discovery seats, and the recall fix isn't pretty. The seats were flying off the bases, so they sent out an extra strap that you have to hook betwee seat and base every time you use it.

Other important info about selling or giving away a used car seat:

Its actually unsafe to get a used car seat unless it is coming from a trusted friend or relative and you are 100% positive:

1)it has never been in any wreck

2)it has all the original pieces, including manual

3)it has never been dropped, which means never been checked as luggage at the airport, either, since this frequently happens when checked or gate checked .

4)it is less than 6 years old

5)the straps have never been completely submerged or washed with anything other than mild soap(it messes up the flame retardent treatment)

Try the evenflo website.  Even better, they should have it installed by a car seat technician.  Most police dept. have at least one tech.  

FYI - If your carseat was ever in a crash though, you should cut it in half and dispose of it.

Tell them that the police dept. offers to teach people how to properly install their car seat.  They have done it hundreds of times and are very familiar with all types of car seats.  Don't stress out; you're doing a good thing.
