  1. Even though your hamster is big, he may be able to fit through something so small, you'd be surprised. I have a large-breed hamster and she has so much fur you'd think she couldn't fit through anything half-an-inch wide, but she can get through MUCH smaller.

  2. Okay, I don't know where the kits are from, but NO.

You can't mix two different types of hamster.

For a start, teddy/syrian hamsters will kill any other animal in their territory.

Secondly, they can easily die from the bigger hamster just treading on them.

Sorry I can't help you with the kit, just thought I'd make sure you knew it wasn't suitable to mix hamsters.

  3. The C&C cages are for guinea pigs.  The openings in the wire grids used are too large for hamsters, they will escape.  Please look at the following link.

    For hamster cages please see:

    I hope this helps you.

  4. Those cages are far too large for a hamster. I made one for my rats, (which are about twice the size of a hamster) and they could fit through(I had to disassemble and return all the pieces to the store).

Rodents can fit through any opening that they can squeeze their head through. If you are lucky, he will only escape, unlucky and he will suffocate himself(by getting his head caught in the opening(I knew someone whose rat almost did this).

You cannot mix hamsters of different species or litters together. Hamsters are solitary and territorial and will kill cage mates.

If you are looking for a cheaper cage that is suitable for a hamster, try looking online. I got some 2 very good rat cages(great price) from http://www.martinscages.com/ , go for powdercoated, as they last longer(since the urine smell does not soak into the metal)

  5. petsmart that is the best place to find any pet things and you might want to consider a different cage c&c cages are for guenie pigs the hamster can escape
