i am a little confused about the common application, so could someone tell me the best way to go about approaching it and choosing the different schools i would like to apply to?

I think you will use an american university guiding book from your nearby librabry or bookstore for reviewing different profiles of colleges and universities. There are 2 years and 4 years universities.
