Insulin resistance diet?

I bought the book by

Cheryle R Hart M.D

I cannot understand this book!! I am at my wits end about dieting.

If anyone has read the book can explain it to me or can reccomend to to some books would be great

I am insulin resistant with PCOS taking Metformin 2x a day 1000 mg

Need to lose alot of weight.

  2. I am also insulin resistant on Metformin.  

    You basically need to eat a low carb/low fat/low glycemic index diet.  The diets from the American Diabetes Association will work.  

    I lost 100 pounds using Medifast.  You drink protein shakes several times a day and have one meal that is lean protein and vegetables.  If you have a lot of weight to lose and want to lost it fast Medifast does the trick.  

  3. The book can be a little obtuse. Basically, the idea is that you should eat foods which coax your body to use insulin more efficiently. The idea is not new.

    You can make your own insulin resistance diet by just eating more green vegetables, fish and cutting back on all white foods (bread, potatoes, french fries, etc).  Also drink 8 glasses of water a day, no exceptions.
