Does anyone know what insulin sensitivity is? Also, why is insulin sensitivity heightened after a workout?

  2. Insulin sensitivity, simply said, is when you're sensitive to insulin.  Your body will react, even over-react to insulin.  The opposite is insulin resistance, where it takes extra insulin to properly process what you ate.

    Anyone can be insulin sensitive/insulin resistant, not just a diabetic.  Most people, diabetic or not, are insulin resistant in the early AM hours.  The difference is, the non-diabetic doesn't know they're insulin resistant because their body just knows to make extra insulin.

    Your body absorbs the insulin you make (or inject).  Exercise makes this process happen faster.
