Most insurance companies use "agent" or "agency" for their representatives.

Is there any other word insurance companies use for their representatives?

  1. Agents are captive, they represent one insurance company most of the time( i.e. Allstate Agent), "agency" is The owners' business. Like "John Doe's" agency...

    Broker, is similar to agent, but a Broker could find different insurance markets to sell to their customers. Brokers shop around for different rates.

    Broker - sells for multiple companies

    Financial Advisor or Financial Planner - typically someone that works with more than one product along with insurance (insurance, investments, etc).
