Hi,

I'm looking for a quality insurance agent in Ontario, Canada, someone who has worked with a large number of rental properties.

If you know someone it would be highly appreciated. (the property is in Orillia, I live in Toronto)

THANKS!

Neil

  1. try your local yellow pages

  2. The first person, who mentions the yellow pages, is somewhat correct.

Go to your garage and get an old telephone book.  (I save mine for years.)  Open the oldest phone book you can find...even if you have to beg for one from a neighbor or friend.

In the Insurance section, look for a CPCU.  This is an advanced designation, like the CLU for those of us in the life insurance business.

The Chartered Property and Casulty Underwriters may even have their own section in the Insurance section of the yellow pages.

Find an agent with the same last name as yours.  Or the next one in alphabetical order.  (This method prevents Adams from getting all the calls.)

If the phone number is disconnected, you then have an idea about that former agent's dependability.  Doubtful it will happen with a CPCU, but you may not have CPCUs up there in the ice country.

If the phone number is connected, then you have found an agent with experience.  His judgement can be depended upon, all else being equal.

This method is something I recommend to many of my prospects.  It is especially good for those who want to avoid a mistake, like hiring the wrong company to dig a swimming pool.

    My site is www.EndlessLegacy.US

You may wish to visit it for additional information on how you should own the real estate.  NEVER own them in your own name.

Additionally, do not own all the properties in one entity.  Ever.
