Question:

Insurance: Can one person be a primary driver for more than one car?

Basically, I'm in need of a car, but cannot afford to pay my own insurance. I am considering putting it under a friend's name and have her as a primary driver and myself as a secondary driver, which would be cheaper.

My concern is that she already has her own car under which she is a primary driver. So my question is: is she able to insure another car as herself being the primary driver?

  1. If you are currently experiencing problems in your budget or financial endeavors, you should really do a thing now before anything will get worse.

In the world today, it is not a sign of financial stability of you have your own car because what you really have to do is to protect it from being destroyed and losing its quality and use for you.

Now that we have technological evolution, transportation means had already become a trend of development so it is really a big challenge for everyone to protect their own interest.

In this world like these, protecting your automobiles and car means that you should acquire insurance for it. But the thing is, insurance is not that easy to get and it comes in an expensive price.

But why do you have to suffer from different problems and different pains if you can buy cheap car insurance online? Aside from it is cheaper relative to the existing insurance offers by other companies, you will also have the chance to save effort and time in applying for this one.

Effort because you do not have to go and endure long hours of waiting and personally applying for it and time because you do not have to go off your work just to process it because you have all the time in the world to do this.

Buy cheap car insurance online now and you will see what you will get in doing this thing. It is real and will really help you out.

  2. Single people can insure more then one car.  Like they have an econo car for commuting and a truck for hauling.  I would say it all depends on her insurance if she is allowed to have more then one car under her name.

  3. If you are living with this friend as a spouse, and have been doing so for whatever period your state law dictates, yes.  If it is just a friend, no of course not.

Edit:  You are in Yahoo Canada, but if you don't restrict your page, you see ALL English answers, Canada, US, Australia, Britain, etc.

I am in Manitoba, and  licenced insurance broker.  It doesn't matter if the other person is a relative, the car has to be insured where it lives, so, if the car lives with you it has to be insured to your address.  So, if this was a relative living at the same address, you would have to talk to a local broker.  However, I say again, friend, relative, even your mother, if you aren't living at the same address the car cannot be insured in this person's name.

Skirting the regulations puts a person in the position of having an insurance claim possibly denied for submitting incorrect information, possibly even an investigation into insurance fraud.

    Sorry.

  4. She can be the primary driver of every car she owns, even if she owns 100 of them.

  5. YOu are not the only one,I have met this type of  problem before.I have good experience here to solve the problem though.http://car-insurance.easyideas4u.info/ca...

  6. If you will be the primary driver, DO NOT have your friend put you on her policy as a secondary driver.

This is insurance fraud. Assuming they don't decide to pursue legal action if they find out, the insurance company will (a) likely want the money they're owed for the policy you should have had and (b) possibly drop you and/or your friend.

Getting insurance after being dropped is a painful process involving much, much higher insurance premiums.

And you'd still need to be living together even if you were family members.
