  1. Hi,

It depends on what contents you have in your shop. Its true you'll have to intimate the incident of damage to your insurance company first.Insurance co.then depute an adjuster or surveyor for assessment of the loss and surveyor will tell you what documents are required.Generally you'll have to submit-1.Trade license,2.Policy copy with schedule,3.Ownership proof of the shop-whether rented or owned,4.Damage certificate from a competent authority or meteorological deptt.,5.Media publication(if any),6.Photographs of damages etc  and other relevant ones in support of your claim.

If I'm right your claim may not be payable. If your shop building and contents are damaged by a natural disaster like a storm or cyclone along with rain-then its a payable claim. If not i.e. caused by leakage of rain water due to defects in the building-then sorry.

  2. <---works for insurance...Have you reported claim..if so an adjuster will be in contact with you to let you know exactly what you'll need.  It could be a big varience of paperwork needed (depending on policy type, ins. co)  but usually an ins co will contact you within 24-48 hours depending on claim severity and claim load...good l;uck!

  3. Firstly, you require a proof that the shop belongs to you ; Registries and all that !

Secondly, an application presenting whole event , causes and your expectation ! They might ask for a a document , that is, stamp paper, for the fact you accepting the claim being received by the Insurance policy !
