Insurance Help?

So I had a D&C on Decmber 14th for a miscarriage.

Its Feb 27th and still no period. No positive preg tests either.

This could mean all of it wasnt removed...

When I went in 3 wks later for my "follow up" the now fired nurse practitioner simply felt my uterus and sent me on my way.

Now they tell me she should have checked my blood for HcG levels to indicate all was removed.

My insurance changed and now if submitted to my new one I will have to pay alot of my deductible. And it cant be submitted to my old one.

Shouldnt this be something my doctor COMPS!!!?? (blood tests, office visit, etc)??

  1. You can check with your old insurance and see if you are still in the "global period" (use those exact words) for the D&C. Some procedures have as long as a 90-day global period, meaning any follow up visits for that procedure are covered under a global agreement between the insurance company and the provider for a set number of days. I don't know what the global procedure for a D&C is. It may be as short as a few days or as long as 3 months. It's worth a phone call though. Good luck!

  2. I'd sure TRY making the doc comp it!!

Call or stop in and explain the issue--the worst thing they can do is say no, right?

Be sure to tell them about your last check by the fired woman!
