Question:

Insurance Question for CA Driver's license?

So I have my driver's license test tomorrow, and I'm so freakin confused right now and I'm stressing out whether I'll even be able to take the test.

I alredy asked this question, but I've been looking around more and I've seen that you DO need proof of [car?] insurance to do your driver's test, and I've also seen you do NOT need proof.

So I'll ask again and I'll hopefully get more answers:

Do I, a 17 year old living in California, need to show proof of [car?] insurance in order to take the driver's license test?

Only Californians answer please :)

  1. I would like to recommend you possess as much information as you can before taking action, here is a good place for that purpose.http://car-insurance.online-helpers.info...

  2. Of course not. Just think about how many people have a license, but don't even own a car. They have no insurance, because they have nothing to insure. You do need proof of insurance to DRIVE anything, though, once you do have your license. If you'll be driving your dad's car, it's most likely his policy would cover you...but you probably want to make sure.

  3. The DMV only care about few thing in order for you to take the test:

    (1) registration

    (2) insurance

    (3) inspection

    (4) car in safe driving condition

You do NOT need to be on the insurance card. People take friends and distant family to test all the time.

Besides it doesn't matter. You have the test tomorrow. It is too late to do anything anyway.

    Good Luck...

P.S. Even if you were on the policy it would NOT show up on the insurance CARD. The card only shows the primary insurer's (your father's) name.
