  1. I took the test and passed and never studied at all!  Test makers tend to make B or C the correct answer.  If you are not positive about an answer then narrow the choice down to B or C and you will find that you get to pass the test!  I just randomly picked B or C on one test and the people that were hiring were impressed with how smart I was!  Little did they know!

  2. You need to find out how you learn...Do you learn by reading (I don't), do you learn by taking notes (I do), or do you learn by listening?

Once you find out how, use that approach.  I took the test, but I read the whole book and took notes.  Then I only studied my notes...Took the practice tests and when I missed one, I marked it down on the notes.

Try that approach if you can.  Don't wait too long or the information will go stale.

  3. Most states or their licensing agents now offer practice exams.  Take the practice exams until you can pass with a 90-95%.  When you can do that, you can almost always pass the state exam.

IMO, the tests that the state gives (or at least my state) doesn't really test your knowledge of insurance, it tests your ability to take a test.  Also, it is based on ISO forms, not the forms that most insurance carriers have filed with the states.  If you have worked in an insurance office and dealt with coverage issues at all, the test is even harder to pass.

  4. First of all, the negative attitude has to go.  You are a great test taker.  This is an easy test and you will make it.  No such thing as a hard test, they ask the questions straight out of the book.  Think about the goal, the prize, the end result and you will succeed.

Take the self study exams once with the book open then with the book closed.  Find the areas that you are weak in and improve on those topics.

    Good Luck
