  1. Choose a car that is 5-7 years old with good safety features. Something like a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla. Those cars get great gas mileage, are reasonable to insure, and are relatively inexpensive to maintain.

Then input them here  http://gsx1.com/InsuranceComparison.html  you can back up, change car and do it again, there's no obligation to buy anything

  2. Insurance will be harder to find for a road legal buggy. It may be cheaper to insure since the buggy cost much less. However, an insurance company might consider this a much higher risk which will increase the rates. I know on a basic car with basic coverage it is pretty inexpensive to insure and most drivers can afford it. If they can't afford insurance then they shouldn't be driving. Really the only way to find out which will be cheaper is to get a few quotes. You can get some Internet quotes for free and it wouldn't take long to see which vehicle would cost more to insure. This will give you a definite answer to your question as well.

  3. i found it cheaper to get a 1 L corsa for my first car

it is cheaper on insurance and it is cheap on tax only £120 a year

they also dont take a lot of petro which is good

    hope this helps
