I am currently in the prosess of making an insurance claim for £7000 worth of jewerly that was stolen from me in a street robbery.

I have already had a visit from the loss adjuster and now I have had a phone call from the insurance companys technical department saying that they want to send someone to interview me which will take a couple of hours!!

Has anyone got an idea on what the purpose of this interview is and is this normal?

Thanks for your advise.

  1. I think a claim for £7k would attract this kind of attention, just make sure that you get all your facts together

  2. Hi Went through this a couple of years ago when my house got broke into,

And they will want to know the ins & outs of a ducks ar*e.

i had to tell them everything i had done from the time i left my house to the time i returned home and ALSO everyrthing upto the time they visited

And i got so p!ssed of with it i ended up asking if they wanted to know how many times  i had been to the loo,

they will record & write everything down,

    good luck to you.

  3. You may want to consider appointing an Assessor to act on your behalf - the Insurers obviously have an Adjuster acting on THEIR behalf.

An Assessor would, of course, be with you during the interview.

  4. You have nothing to worry about if it's a genuine claim, but they hire experts who can detect if you are lying. So just be yourself and don't worry.
