  1. Your excess is to be paid to the garage before they will release your car. If your car has been stolen, they will normally pay you net of the excess.

  2. im not sure but when i  had to claim in the past they took the excess of what  they were gonna pay me so for exsample my excess was £50.00 they were paying me £775.00 they sent me £725.00 i found that easier

  3. Check your policy, but I think you're likely to find that the excess only applies to claims under the Fire and Theft part, not the 'third party'. I've just checked mine on-line (which you can do with most big co's) and I only have to pay an excess on damage to my vehicle not damage to other peoples.

From your additional info it looks like someone is trying to claim off of your insurance after an accident ...correct ?

If this is so, I don't think you have any excess to pay.

As always, the best thing to do is to phone your insurer and ask.

As an aside, if you believe the accident was the other party's fault, you should fight your corner, you will lose your no claims bonus and be charged more in future if you don't.
