Hey everyone. I'm shopping around for Bike insurance. Its a brand new bike so im going to need full coverage. The best i found was progressive at 1250$ a year. This was pretty good, but the bike has only a 250 cc engine, so im trying to find something cheaper. Any Refferals to any websites?

I know any insurance for me(because of my age) will be high. So don't be rude and tell me im too young or blah blah blah. Chances are your an old f**t =)

Thanks!

  1. Try going to geico.com and getting a quote.  I am 17 and I just got a quote yesterday for a 2007 Yamaha R6 (600cc) for around $350 a year.  The only thing is that I registered it under a recreation vehicle b/c I have a car that I will drive a lot too.  The bike wont be a primary vehicle till I go to college.  The 08 250R that I got a quote for was a little more b/c I registered it as a commuter vehicle and it is an 08 so parts are more expensive.

  2. That sounds about right as far as the price on insurance goes.. you will be able to get it cheaper if you do with plpd which i can bet that is what the guy has who says he pays 23 per month and he is 18.. I would get full coverage if i were you but if you are financing though kawasaki factory financing it is not required to have full coverage or any ins at all

  3. 1250Dollars a year for  a play race bike. I pay 125 a year for full coverage on my 250.

  4. you dont need a motorcycle when you are 17. we are already

he ll on two wheels. take it from a 15 year old.

  5. im 18 with a gixxer 750 and i pay $23 a month through progressive if that helps at all

  6. in illinois, you have to be 18 for a 250cc bike (class M license)

try www.insweb.com and see if you can get a quote there.

  7. I've been checking around lately and getting quotes and the such and I've been quoted a price of $875 full coverage for a 2005 honda vtx 1300.  I'm a male, and 37 years old.  Like you've said...given your age and the new bike and stuff it doesn't sound like too bad of a quote.

    Have fun!!!

  8. Hi, I am a insurance broker. I think the Progressive quote is pretty good, but you won't know the exact figures of other companies without rating based on all the missing information, like where you live, your credit score (at least here in Portland) your MVR, age, the type of bike, and insurance history. But you being 17, and wanting liability AND comprehensive and collision (better known as "full coverage") is going to cost you. A bigger engine will be more, but I think $1250/yr isn't bad. Instead of doing all the work yourself, why not look up a independent agent in your area that can shop your rates for you?. I know you can go to Safeco.com and enter in your zip code, to find a local agent. Almost all Safeco agents, are independents as well, so have them check the other markets they have access to as well.

    Good luck!

  9. Dont get full covertage ona b ike thats only worth 4k, its not worth it, taking insurance is very similer to gambling, and the insurance company has the hosue edge, in the long term of yoru life you will pay more for full coverage on yoru vehicle than you will likely receive in damages to them.  Just pay for liability, and keep a credit card with enough credit to buy a new one.  In the long term of your life, this method is cheaper.  I financed my 250 when i was young, they didnt care that i didnt have it because the loan was for sucha  small amount of money.

I payed 800 for my first year of motorcycle insurance form progressive just for liability on a 2006 ninja 250, i have an autroacheous driving record, so you shoudl be able to do better than that most likely

  10. Some good on-line quoting services I bookmarked last time I was looking: http://finance.ebookorama.com/ukusa-sele...  http://insurance.moneysavecenter.com/

    http://gsx1.com/InsuranceComparison.html

    http://cars.guidearticles.com/insurance-...

Quoting is free so you might as well take advantage of it
