Question:

Insurance for Teen Brother?

I recently just bought a new car. I am giving my 16 year old brother my old car (2005 Nissan Sentra). We both live in NJ but he does not live in my household. Do I need to add him on my policy as a driver? I have full coverage since the car is still being financed. If he is in an accident, will the car be covered? If I add him to my policy, it will be another $1200 a year!! How can I get around this. Can I just say that he was driving my car--if he did ever get into an accident?

  1. it will be much cheaper if you add him to your policy then him getting his own insurance.  plus you will get  a multi car discount. keep shopping around for lower rates and you will find something you can afford.
