Hey, I was wandering what would be the best place to insure a Honda Civic VTI S it's either a 1.5 or a 1.6, I am 17 years old, I am looking for the cheapest insurance I can. I am still at school and I make 400 a month working for the NHS. I am away to become a Royal Marine Commando so I am getting more pay for that.

I want to find out the cheapest insurance so I can have it fully insured, I have not yet purchased this car but have it on hold for me to buy it.

Any recommendations on where to insure?

  1. Here are come of the quotes i got for my civic:

    Amica - $920

    Progressive - $715

    Esurance - $1129

    Geico - $850

    GMAC - $475

These quotes are for 6-month liability only coverage. If your thinking of getting a policy from one of the places that advertise on tv, dont. There is a reason why all of the quotes above from the first 4 are expensive, they all spend millions advertising every week. The costs are passed on to you.

There are insurace agencys that will search dozens of insurance companies for the best rate for you. Thats how i found out about GMAC. Plus there are no additional fees for going through an insurance agency like that and they are generally small family run businesses that offer much better customer service than geico or amica ever could....

  2. The car model is just one component in a complicated equation of Car Insurance. Use this helpful Internet resource and you’ll find out in 10 minutes.

  3. Amica is pretty cheap - www.amica.com

Geico and Progressive can be cheap and are worth checking with. I would suggest trying to increase your income a little and be aware most insurance companies require a downpayment of the first two months payments or so.
