Insurance help for low income people?

Unfortunately we are low income people and I need to get insurance on two vehicles asap! My birthday is in a couple of weeks and I have to get tabs for my plates. I live in Michigan. Are there any programs that help low income families with auto insurance, or does anyone know of any companies that offer low rate insurance? I haven't had insurance on my cars for almost eight months and I know this is going to hurt me, but I have to get it! PLEASE HELP!!

Nope, there aren't any.  My suggestion is, sell one of the cars, and then you'll have the money to pay for the insurance on the other car.

Yep, Michigan is a seriously economically depressed state right now.  But if you've got TWO Cars, you've got too much of your assets tied up in cars.
