Insurance help!!!?

ok i went to planned parent hood and they put me on medicad because i did not know my parents had me on there insurance but for what i need it for i cant use it im on my own so what do i do will i get in trouble??? for being on both basicaly my parents insurance is in case of emergencys what shoudl i do???

  1. Well, if you lied about the household income, to get Medicaid, that's insurance fraud.  And if you don't live with your parents, but still are claimed as a dependent on their insurance, THAT is insurance fraud, too.

    So either way . . . someone is committing fraud.  Penalties vary by state, but usually end up with someone getting a bill for services that got paid for, but shouldn't have been covered.


  2. You need to call PP and ask them what to do they may beable to help you out way more!

  3. If you truly are still covered by your parents (you say you are on your own. If so you would need to be a full-time student to still be covered by them.)

    One of the requirements for medicaid is that all other possible insurers be billed first. If medicaid finds out you have other coverage, they could retract any payments they have paid, and you will be billed for them.
