Hi, im 13 years old and my family is in some trouble now. Our roof is caving in and Aig insurance may not cover it. They said if the snow was still on the roof by the time the investigator came out, they wouldnt cover our house. Im adopted and i live my grandparents on a lake in the middle of nowhere, and the snow here is very heavy. My grandfather is 64 years old and he cant really sholvel like he used to, and i can barely sholvel at all. The snow on our roof is at least 3ft deep. I was wondering if they dont cover our house, we file a lawsuite or something.

  1. i'm not sure what type of policy you have but on most homeowners policies "weight of snow and ice" IS covered.  if thats the cause of the roof problems, it should be covered.  if the rood was old or damaged to begin with and then it snowed and now you are having problems, thats a maintanence issue and it would NOT be covered.  the adjuster wants the snow off the roof so he can see the roof and what kind of shape its in.

  2. Why not send an email appeal to everyone you know locally asking for help.  I'd help if I was close enough.

  3. find a nieghbor to come shovel it--i'm sure someone will help.  do your grandparents belong to a church, call the pastor-i'm sure he'll find someone that can do it.
