  1. The doctors offer payment plans.  Check around.  You can go to a birthing center to save money.

  2. This greatly dependent on your state but the federal government has a plan called COBRA and you are eligible to participate in COBRA when you lose your benefits. This coverage will provide 18 months of coverage from your old employer at the cost of the plan plus 2%. If that doesnt work, all you have to prove is you are married and you lost your other benefits. In that case your husbands group plan has no choice but to take you. In NY all you would need is a change form and a couple signatures.

  5. Your only option is if your husband's policy is a group policy because you will not be able to get on any individual plan if you're pregnant. If you can't get on your husband's you'll just have to pay for the appointment.

Don't get on any maternity discount plan; you're just wasting your money.
