I need to find out where i can get quotes for auto insurance on a 1995 Ford Contour. Its like a faded black color.

I'm not sure what insurance company my parents use but they are taking care of it for me because i am about to inroll in college & paying for it myself.

They are helping me out.

My mom said that it shouldn't be more then $65.

Thanks.

  1. try net quote or insure me.   If you go for your own policy you will lose multipolicy, multicar discount as well as may not have a good of a discount for credit.  You would probably be best suited to work with your parents agent and look at getting your own policy but have it linked to there if your parent are still claiming you on the taxes.  Good Luck.

  2. mlp,

You can go on the internet but you don't want to give up a multi-car discount so you're going to have to get a quote for all the cars in the family therefore be prepared with all drivers license numbers, all social security numbers, all vehicle identification numbers, all dates of birth, coverage details such as liability limits, physical damage deductibles and optional coverages, if any. You can go to any number of sites such as www.progressive.com or www.geico.com. If you complete the process accurately you will get an accurate quote. Then if it is a good quote you have to convince Mom to switch insurance companies, if she doesn't agree to that you have wasted your time.

Or you can call your Mom's insurance agent and get a quote without any hassle because your agent already has most of the information he/she needs. They will give you the cost to add your faded black 1995 Contour and all you have to say to the agent is "add the car today". Done.

P.S. The color of your car is not a rating factor.

  3. if you want to look online type in "insurance" and you will get a lot of places to look.

the best advice i can give you is to either contact your parents agent or call a local independent agent where you live.  they can find you the best coverage at the best rate.

online quotes are NEVER accurate as they do not pull your MVR, CLUE, or credit.  they usually come back higher than quoted.

you also really want an actual human being working for you that knows your policy when you need help or have a claim.

if you just HAVE to go online, try Progressive or Nationwide.

  4. It depends on your state.   You should call their insurance agent.

  5. To many variables, what state, what type of coverage, how much coverage, your driving record etc.....

Without these no one will be able to give you an accurate answer.
