Insurance repair questions?

Hi, we had storm damage to the hood, bumper and top portion of the door covered under comp on our 99 Park Avenue, I took the car to the Geico adjuster and he wrote an estimate of $1,400 less my $300 deductable, so I got a check for $1,100. My main concern was the new paint blending in with the old and my worries come true, anyway I took it to my local body shop and the parts damaged were repaired and painted.I stopped by the shop this morning and looked at the car in the paint room and the color is identical but ther is a big difference in the new clear vs the old.The top of the front bumper was painted, the hood, the fender and the top portion of the pass door .I have delt with this shop for many years and they only did what was on the estimate and did a great job.Should I leave out Monday morning with the car?? I cannot expect new paint and clear to be a 100% match to the car's 9 year old paint but due to the parts that was damaged it just does not look right? What are my options?

  1. Repaint the entire car, at your own expense.

  2. I would complain to the body shop and see what your options are to make it a better blend.  Then with an estimate for the options the body shop gives you, take it to the insurance company and stick to your guns that it isnt the way it was before the accident.

From experience you should be able to just have the car either completely buffed out, or worst case have the body shop reclear the whole car.

  3. Next time you need body work you may want to find another body shop. I had a lot of work done on a truck and only what needed to be painted was painted. You cannot tell what was painted and what was not unless you can find a small scratch somewhere in the old paint. By the way the truck is a 2000 and a good body man can do that so it doesn't show.
