  1. confused.com

  2. Try confused.com: My nephew had a BMW 3 series at 17, no problem insuring it in a high risk area - he's now 21 & has a 3 series convertible, still not frighteningly dear. I have a P reg for sale.

  3. ha ha keep dreaming son. the bigger the engine size the higher the insurance. my first insurance was £1700 and that was only a small car.

plus you got Tax which will be about £200 a year, then M.o.t is £50 and if you want a service thats £180 plus petrol aswell.

but if u can afford it go for it,

  4. Try any of the price comparison web sites or an insurance broker as they will check many different insurers for you and give you a list of prices, but while you are aged under 25, you are regarded as being in a high risk category by insurers because of the volume of claims they get from that age group, so don't be surprised if some insurers refuse to quote or if they want an absolute fortune to cover you, and you also need to bear in mind that a lot of insurers also have a high excess policy for younger drivers, so if you do have an accident, you could end up paying out a small fortune.

I've been in the insurance business for a long time and it isn't unusual to see younger drivers pay more for their insurance than they do for their car. In my opinion, whilst it will impress your mates to be seen in a nice car, you throw away a fortune in insurance premiums. The best way to do it is to buy an old wreck and drive that until you are 25, once you have got some driving experience behind you and some no claim discount and you are 25, try approaching an insurer to insure the nice car then and you will find the prices drastically cheaper.

  5. Have you seen the way "new drivers" drive. I dont blame car insurance companies for "sticking it right up you"

  6. Tesco and Prudential car insurance seems quite good for new drivers.  Also Adrian Flux are good for sportier cars.

Virgin car insurance don't charge you interest for paying monthly so that might be good too!!

  7. ouch thats gonna hurt your wallet.
