Insuring a car and driving it the same day

Is this possible? I would like to phone my insurance company (Elephant) tomorrow (Sunday, 2nd of August) to add a second car to my policy and drive it the same day. Thanks in advance!

Yes you can but you will need to give them an exact time to start the policy and you will be asked to pay straight away.

yes, insurers can start your insurance from the minute they recieve all the correct details from you over the phone. they will give you a reference number to use until your certificate comes through the post. you can also get your certificate emailed to you nowadays and can print it off so there is no need for the post!

Not many insurance companies would be open on Sunday but you would be able to arrange it today to start tomorrow

Yes they can insure you instantly, I did this when i went to buy my campervan cos i didn't know the reg etc, I rang them while i was there and was insured straight away.
