  1. just set up the equation first. Two numbers when multiplied= 50

    a x b =50

but you were given a clue that one number is two times larger than the other. so let b=2 x a

    a x (2xa) =50

from there it's quite easy. and remember the equation you set up to solve for the other number

  2. You need to set up a pair of equations, calling the two integers, such as x and y. Look at the first 2 sentences to find them.

The first equation would be X*Y=50.

You can determine the second equation. By substitution (rearrange one equation to be a x= or y= ) into the other equation, you can then solve for one integer.

Plugging that integer into either equation will give you the second integer.
