Integra LS vtec? What does this mean?

I know the Acura Integra B18a1 motor is non vtec, and it is the same as the RS and GS motor. I always hear the term "LS Vtec". This is an oxymoron, what does it mean? My gues is a normal B18a1 non vtec block mated with any B series Vtec head like a GSR head. Is that what it is? And how well does it work compared to an actual GSR motor? It has the best of both worlds in a way, the low compressioned, turbochargable block of a non vtec LS, and the Vtec power of a b18c head. And with a B18c head, how does it compare with an actual full b18c motor? If I ended up putting a GSR head on my LS block and getting a GSR computer as well, would this be just as good as a real b18c or better? How would it compare in horsepower? What would my new redline be (If I also got the computer from a GSR) just wondering, I got alot of questions and I'm new to building hondas

Yep, however if after installation, it's not tuned right the engine might blow. I suggest you taking it to a shop so they can tune it for you. It will run stronger and better

yes u are correct.

it is a non vtec block like the b18a mated with a vtec head, like b16 or gsr.

your right.. but you cant just slapped on an LS bottom with a GSR head.. its gonna blow sooner or later.. you  have to build the bottom block first to withstand such power.. its too complicated but its not a good idea unless you know what your doing.. besides if you did do that the lsvtec will have more displacement than the gsr and will give you more power!!

yes..its just like what you said...its the best of both worlds...more people tend to go with the b16 head instead of the gsr head...this is because the b16 head has bigger ports for more air flow and also it will up the compression for more power....but a lsvtec is not reliable...its a ticking time bomb....the motor could blow on you when you less expect it...but its stronger then the regular b18c...and faster....hp will go up barely but you got all the good torque from the ls block...but it all depends on whats done to it and how its tuned....and red line will be where you set the computer to be...or when its set on the stock computer....
